IAN: A- 4/5 Give a bit more background historical knowledge about the novel overall (1-2 minutes of intro); no need for full plot summary; I'm a bit worried that you miss some of the key ideas in the passage here B- 5/6 More needed in terms of meaning and effect- at most points, you are merely paraphrasing the lines as your analysis (you don't want to prove it is foreshadowing, for example, you want to analyze/emphasize why it's included) C- 3 Some good organization here; be careful that you don't go line by line in your organzation; need an overall thesis/statement of purpose D- 4 good tone, pacing
